August 9th is when we legally were married. August 24th is when we had our ceremony and actually celebrate our anniversary. So, I will split the difference and go ahead and write this blog now.

A year ago Kyle and I were flying to Thailand, wedding dress in hand. I've never encountered such nice flight attendants until I carried a wedding dress. Free champagne, upgrades, the works! I think we've all since learned from this blog that carrying a baby doesn't get the same reaction....And thats when you really need the champagne and upgrades!

Originally, we wanted to take a fun trip together. Thailand looked beautiful and was different so we booked it. A few months later, it turned into our destination wedding location. I love where we were married, the ease of our wedding, and the fact that it was just about the two of us. I wouldn't change a thing if I could go back and do it again. Within this year, we have moved, gone on several more trips, had a baby, had arguments, had great laughs, planned our future, and have made so many great memories.

Within this year, I have also learned a few more things about Kyle. Let me elaborate... He is a toenail picker.! He really likes movies, a lot. He can't cook. If anything ever happened to me, please anyone who reads this blog, make sure Quinn eats normal food. He's the one who will come in behind you and rearrange the dishwasher you just loaded to make it more efficient. I have also learned that Kyle is an amazing husband. He is very sweet and thoughtful. The guy who will make me a card and surprise me with breakfast in bed (Quinn can't live on waffles). He is down for whatever. I can be random and been known to throw out a few crazy ideas and he's always down for an adventure with me. He is an amazing Dad. The way he is with Quinn just made me love him that much more. He's a good dancer, can be crafty, and has good fashion sense. (Thanks Susan) He's genuine and kind, would do anything for anyone type of guy. (Thanks David) He's smart, a nice amount of quirky, and fun. He has all the qualities I could have hoped for in a husband. One time when Quinn was younger, Kyle had to work the weekend in Denver. I came down with a bad cold the same weekend. He worked twelve + hours, drove home to help me, and went back early the next morning to work twelve more. He could have stayed in his hotel room that night and said I hope you feel better and probably had the best sleep of his life since having a baby. But he didn't. He's devoted and selfless. I am so thankful God brought Kyle and I together. A year ago I was uncertain. Today, I am certain I was lucky enough to marry my best friend and soulmate.

Happy first anniversary Kyle! Here's to a great first year and many more to come.

After flying 20 or so hours, I look crazy. Wedding dress in hand :) If you think I look glamorous there, imagine me throwing up in that sweater on the drive home with the crazy taxi driver making me car sick. RIP sweater.
The vows he wrote made me cry. Something I loved about our intimate ceremony. I would have never read personal vows if we had a big wedding.
 Where we were married.
The restaurant we ate at after the ceremony.
Fun day traveling to different islands.
