First Timer

Well here we go... I have decided to start blogging instead of sending every picture and update to every single one of our family members and friends. It's also so Kyle and I remember all of our life experiences clearly. When we are old and senile, we will have our blog to keep our facts straight. I am sort of feeling like this is a rite of passage as a new
mom. Along with cutting all my hair off. What's next, a minivan?! That'll never happen....

So, while I am here, I will give an update to what is currently going on. We are obsessed with little miss Quinn these days. She had her two week appointment yesterday which went very well. She is now 8lbs! 75th percentile for height, 38th percentile for weight.
Kyle went back to work this week. It was so nice having him home with us for the two weeks he had off for paternity leave. Lucky for us, he has a four day weekend this weekend!
For the most part we are just getting this party started. Figuring out what makes Quinn calm, what  makes her upset, how to make her feel better, and soaking in every great minute of it all. She is calm 95% of the time, but without fail around 7pm she turns into an entire different baby it seems like. Her witching hour lasts until around 10pm. Lucky for us, she usually tones it down for the rest of the night.
Speaking of the rest of the night... How is it that my husband who usually woke up with every move I made or anytime I had to pee, now sleeps like the dead?!?  Anytime I would think about sneaking out of the room to get a midnight bowl of cereal, he would wake up. Things have changed. The other night I was up feeding Quinn and I see Kyle is sound asleep with all the lights on, a heartbeat noise maker turned up loud, Quinn fussing, Ruprick helping himself to some water, and me thrashing around trying to get my phone and water near me. This has actually been helpful because if we were both always up, then when I hit my wall of tiredness, nobody would be able to fill in like he so willingly does now.
Well, I survived my first blog post. Here's to many more to come.
